Airheads FHE

I'm a member of a website called Smiley360 that gives free samples in return for reviews.  This last week, I got a box of Airheads and was asked to make something out of them and then show off what I made, so...

Voila!

I made a tribute to Harry Potter.

I'll be honest, I'm not the world's biggest fan of the taste + texture of Airheads.  (Except their new rainbow strips, Airheads Extremes.  They're really good.)  I do like, though, that they're pretty allergy-free.  (They don't have gluten or peanuts.)  We don't have a lot of allergies in our family, but I appreciate companies that make foods that are more universally accessible.  As a teacher, it was hard sometimes to find treats that all of my 600 students could eat.

This was, by the way, a really fun Family Home Evening activity / treat!  All of us had a blast.  The Airheads were pretty easy to mold with, and they come in really fun colors.  Kind of like sculpting with edible, stiffish clay.  The kids didn't compare their creations to ours, either (which they do with stuff like carving pumpkins), because if they were disappointed with how something was turning out, they'd fix it, change it into something else, or eat ate it.

Also, because I'm supposed to include step-by-step instructions on how to make what I made, imagine these instructions set to the "tune" of a BopIt game:
1. Roll it!
2. Slice it!
3. Cut it with a roller!
4. Mold it!

review: Sleep Number SleepIQ bed

As I've mentioned before, I'm a member of a website that gives me samples in return for reviews. (If you're interested in learning more about the website I use, here's a link: http://h5.sml360.com/-/ge2y)   I'm not a huge fan of putting random reviews of stuff on my blog - I prefer to review stuff that I find in my regular life and love :) - but I agreed to review this! (and I'm getting a free pillow for it, which I'm super excited about) so here we go...

We tried out the new Sleep Number SleepIQ bed recently, and it was cool! It has sensors in the air of the mattress (the part that firms or softens depending on your Sleep Number) that tracks breathing and heart rates during the night.  In the morning, it send the information to an app on your phone / ipad / etc. and tells you how you slept the night before.  It tells you when you were most restful, when you were moving around, and when you were out of bed, and then gives you a score out of 100 on your overall sleep.  Then you can use that information to improve your sleep the next night.  (For example, if you think your  sleep number is 35 but you only score 65%, change your number tomorrow and see if your score goes up.)

It's SUPER comfortable, but that's really just any Sleep Number bed.  I'd never tried one before and was amazed at how uncomfortable it made my bed at home (that I love) seem!  Haha :)

I really love the idea of this bed. I like that it tracks how well I'm sleeping and gives me feedback to help improve my sleep. I think, in that way, it's very unique. It's the only bed I've ever heard of that does that. I also like that the app allows you to keep track of what you do during the day that may affect your sleep - what you ate, whether you exercised, etc. I wish that it tracked more than heart and breathing rate, though. What would really put this bed over the top (in my opinion) is if it tracked REM cycles, too. Also, it's pretty pricey. I've never spent several thousand dollars on a bed before, and to be honest, if I wanted to get the kind of technology that the SleepIQ bed offers, I would probably just buy a FitBit or something for $100.

But you don't have to take my word for it! Here's a link with some more information about the Sleep Number SleepIQ bed if you're interested in trying one out for yourself: http://h5.sml360.com/-/hrph

Airborne Gummies

I got a free bottle of Airborne's new stuff in return for an honest review, so I'm sharing my review with you lucky ducks!

First off, I was super excited to get them in the mail because it was a FULL-SIZED bottle!  Not just a sample!  And I was really curious about the fact that these new supplements are gummies.  I'm not usually a big fan of the taste of Airborne, so I thought if these were gummies, maybe they'd be designed for kids and have better flavor.

When I got them, I actually put off eating them for several days because - I'll be honest - they look weird.  They have granulated sugar on the outside, so the inside of the bottle has sugar all over it.  For some reason that made me think they were going to be gross.  Plus, the label says they have "35 mg of Herbal Blend including Echinacea and Ginger."  Basically, I was expecting to eat a gummy that tasted like herbs with sugar on top.

WRONG!  These are seriously delicious.  When I first read that three gummies were one serving and an adult could have up to three servings per day, I was skeptical.  "Who wants to eat that many herby supplements?"  The answer: Me and Joel.  They're really good!  They legitimately taste like what they're supposed to [pink = grapefruit, red = mixed berry].  I want to eat them like candy.

Anyway, I'm not supposed to tell you that these prevented me from getting sick, protected me from germs (especially in crowded places), reduced the severity of my cold, or anything like that.  I will, however, tell you that Airborne Gummies are the tastiest "immune system support" I've ever eaten, and if you ever feel yourself in need of an "immune support supplement" or "blast of Vitamin C plus 9 Vitamins, Minerals & Herbs," you should try these.

Oh, and here's a coupon if you want one!  http://smiley360.com/2635371.cfm
